Our Story
Celebrating three decades in business
2002
MedSource is Founded
After a career in medical sales, Todd Fagley started MedSource in his garage with an idea to sell customizable penlights featuring the logos of EMS agencies.
2003-2004
Respiratory, Gear Bags + Patient Transport Lines Launched
The earliest product offerings focused on supplying EMS providers.
2005
First OEM Agreement
We signed our first contract with one of our distributor partners to manufacture private label products.
2008
First 510(k)s
Our in-house product development team began to create new product designs, earning our first 510(k)s for a CPR mask and Endotracheal Tube.
2010
International Expansion
MedSource moves into international markets as MedSource Export.
2015-2016
ClearSafe® and TrueSafe® IV Safety Catheters and Sharps Dart 510(k)s
MedSource grows its partnership with Harsoria in India and begins to focus on developing safety IV catheter lines and accessory products.
2020
COVID Response
Pivoted all operations to help first responders and caregivers receive the equipment needed to care for COVID patients.
2024
A further innovation of the IV catheter selection: MedSource receives a 510(k) for its ClearSafe® and TrueSafe® Blood Control Safety IV Catheters.
2026
Full Line Up of IV Catheters
To complete the portfolio, MedSource receives 510(k)s and FDA clearance for the ClearSafe Comfort® Closed System and Passivo, a passive safety IV catheter.

The Minnesota Star Tribune awarded MedSource Labs one of their Top Workplaces in 2026. This award selection is determined through an independent employee feedback survey, which makes the honor especially meaningful for the entire MedSource team.
McKesson's Private Brand Supplier of the Year
In 2026, McKesson named MedSource Labs their Private Brand Supplier of the Year. This recognition represents the collaborative partnership between the two companies to develop and deliver private label medical devices for the McKesson brand.
McKesson's Best New Supplier of the Year
During the first year of the McKesson and MedSource Labs distribution partnership, MedSource received the Best New Supplier of the Year award at the McKesson National Sales Meeting. This honor recognized the level of service and quality that MedSource provides.
EMS World Innovation Award Finalist
In 2022, MedSource Labs was named a Finalist for the 2022 EMS World Innovation Awards for their submission of the Paulsen Airway, which EMS providers use to open and maintain the airway while allowing deep suction to rapidly clear secretions.
EMS World Innovation Award Winner
In 2019, MedSource Labs' subsidiary Biomedix received the EMS World Innovation Award for the Pressure Rated Extension Set, which has a 400 PSI pressure rating to support EMS providers delivering fluids in the field. This recognition highlights the MedSource Labs commitment to providing innovative medical devices that improve patient outcomes.
